#554: initng does not work with cryptsetup
------------------------------------------------+---------------------------
Reporter: PavilioniX | Owner: initng at initng.thinktux.net
Type: defect | Status: new
Priority: normal | Milestone: initng-ifiles-0.1.5
Component: Feature Requests for initng-ifiles | Version:
Severity: normal | Resolution:
Keywords: cryptsetup,dm-crypt,crypttab |
------------------------------------------------+---------------------------
Changes (by rick_777):
* priority: low => normal
* keywords: => cryptsetup,dm-crypt,crypttab
Comment:
I've managed to setup encrypted filesystems (swap and /tmp) via
/etc/crypttab with initng. I've attached the corresponding files. Don't
forget to chmod 755 /lib/initng/scripts/crypto, otherwise it won't run.
"README" notes:
* cryptsetup should be copied to /sbin. Latest version is 1.5 (cryptsetup-
luks is now the official version)
* modules dm-mod and dm-crypt should be present in your kernel. The
scripts load them automatically
* creating an encrypted /tmp might take a while each time you boot
(cryptsetup issue), but it's definitely worth it if you value your
privacy.
