Comment:

 My rc.sysinit includes the part that reads /etc/crypttab and runs
 cryptsetup, it's attached to ticket #806.

 The encrypting part should be attached to mountfs/essential. The trick is
 that this depends on a script that needs to be called twice, because some
 partitions may be encrypted using random number generators, but the random
 seed is located within /var, which might itself be encrypted with a
 password.
