#806: Critical tasks (modules, daemons, /dev files) skipped in PCLinuxOS

Distro: PCLinuxOS 2007. Haven't tested the 2008 "minime" tho.

 What goes wrong:

 1) modules. The modules in pclinuxos don't get loaded by default when
using initng. Specially acpi modules, and custom modules (which can reside
in /etc/modprobe.preload and /etc/modprobe.preload.d/* instead of
 /etc/modules, depending on the circumstances).

 2) keyboard. Also, the keyboard initialization routine hangs on initng
(showstopper - i had to copy it from the sysinit scripts).

 3) hald. The HAL daemon isn't loaded by default, either.

 4) udev. Finally, many /dev/ files aren't created as with sysvinit,
specially the /dev/mouse required by KDE (critical).

Perhaps it's that PCLinuxOS runs in both LiveCD and normal config, so it
varies a lot from other distros. I'll attach an rc.sysinit and other
 scripts.
