-----------------------------------+----------------------------------------
Hi, I just wanted to give initng a try.
I am running Debian etch, with lvm.
I have installed the deb package 0.6.7-1 and ifiles 0.0.5-2 yesterday,
configured grub, and tried to boot.
I have seen some messages that /usr/bin/awk, sort, uniq is not available
(as usr was not mounted at that point). Initng did not stop that time.
Then it has executed system/checkfs start
and fsck did not find any /dev/mapper/vg-* devices.
it has said that system/checkfs has terminated with some signal, and
system/mountfs has failed and it has ended there.
It has started a maintenance shell. From that it seems that the dm modules
are loaded, but lvm was not started yet.
When I have executed /etc/init.d/lvm start, the devices were created (by
udevd).
So I suppose the problem is just that it has tried to check and mount the
filesystems before they were introduced.
But I don't know how shall I continue the boot process. After ^d it hasn't
tried to execute the failed step(s) again, but wanted to go further.
Even shutdown, did not work, so I had to turn the machine off.
I have expected that it will at least be able to boot my system out of the
box. I thought that I only have to configure things later.
Since I am pretty new to initng, sorry if I have overlooked something, or
the bug is in a different component, or something like that.
Cheers,
Gabor
