Shouldn't domainname.ii set the domain name - at least that could be guessed 
from the name. ;-)

By the way, this brought something to the surface (at least 
here): /etc/HOSTNAME contains the FQDN, not just the bare name. We could 
modify domainname.ii in a way that it'll try to set the domain name 
from /etc/hostname (or /etc/HOSTNAME), if it contains the FQDN, or 
from /etc/resolv.conf otherwise.

If the rest is ok with that, I'll prepare a patch.
